  7.      picttoppm - convert a Macintosh PICT file into a portable pixmap
  8.  
  9. SYNOPSIS
  10.      picttoppm [-verbose] [pictfile]

  13. DESCRIPTION
  14.      Reads a PICT file (version 1 or 2) and outputs a portable pixmap.  Useful
  15.      as  the first step in converting a scanned image to something that can be
  16.      displayed on Unix.

  18. OPTIONS
  19.  
  20.      -v   Turns on verbose mode which prints a a whole  bunch  of  information
  21.           that only picttoppm hackers really care about.

  24. BUGS
  25.      The PICT file  format  is  a  general  drawing  format.   picttoppm  only
  26.                                                                ---------
  27.      supports  a  small  subset of its operations but is still very useful for
  28.      files produced by scanning software.  In  particular,  text  added  to  a
  29.      scanned image will be silently ignored.
